In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
