The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
