The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And raiding at dawn 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 Verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest- 10 that on that Day their Sustainer [will show that He] has always been fully aware of them? 11
