Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 Nay, you will soon come to know; 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
