Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 till you reached the grave. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 And yet if you knew with positive knowledge 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
