Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 until you come to the graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then, on that Day, ye shall surely be asked of the delights. 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
