Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 until you come to the graves. 2 Nay, you will soon come to know; 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 No indeed; did you know with the knowledge of certainty, 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8
True are the words of God the Almighty.
