The Afternoon (Al-'Asr)

3 verses, revealed in Mecca after Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh) before The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the time (of the advent of Islam), 1 the human being is doomed to suffer loss, 2 Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy. 3

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
