Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe unto every slanderer, traducer, 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 It will engulf them. 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
