The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 In extended columns. 9
