The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 in columns outstretched. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
