The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in towering columns. 9
