The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who has gathered wealth and counted it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 No indeed; he shall be thrust into the Crusher; 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 The fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
