Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
