Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
