Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 And his wife, the bearer of fuel, 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
