Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
