Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
