Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 shall have a rope of palmfiber around her neck! 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
