Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
