Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
