The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 in columns outstretched. 9
