The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 arise and warn, 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 purify your garments; 4 And pollution shun. 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 it will be a hard day 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and sons standing before him, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 Burning the skins! 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
