The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Hour hath drawn nigh, and the moon hath been rent in sunder. 1 But if they see a sign they turn away, and say: "This is the same old lie continuing," 2 And they denied and followed their own desires, whereas each matter has been decided! 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 but the warnings have proved to have no effect on them. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about. 7 Rushing towards the caller; the disbelievers will say, “This is a tough day.” 8 ۞ Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water 11 And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected. 14 And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished? 15 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 16 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 17 And there belied the A'ad; so how dreadful have been My torment and warning! 18 We indeed sent towards them a severe windstorm, on a day the ill luck of which lasted upon them forever. 19 Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms. 20 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 21 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 22
