The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
