۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 on couches facing each other. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
