Say, "Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Or who controls hearing and sight and who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and who arranges [every] matter?" They will say, "Allah," so say, "Then will you not fear Him?" 31 This then is Allah, your true Lord; and what is there after the truth but error; how are you then turned back? 32 Thus does the word of your Lord prove true against those who transgress that they do not believe. 33 Say: 'Is there any of your associates who originates creation, then brings it back again?' Say: 'God -- He originates creation, then brings it back again; so how are you perverted?' 34 Say: 'Is there any of your associates who guides to the truth?' Say: 'God -- He guides to the truth; and which is worthier to be followed -- He who guides to the truth, or he who guides not unless he is guided? What then ails you, how you judge?' 35 Most of them only follow conjectures; and surely conjecture can be no substitute for truth. Allah is well aware of whatever they do. 36 And this Qur'an is not such as could be fabricated as against Allah. But it is a confirmation of that which is before it, and a detailing of the Decree, whereof there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds. 37 Or do they say, 'Why, he has forged it'? Say: 'Then produce a sura like it, and call on whom you can, apart from God, if you speak truly.' 38 Nay, but they are bent on giving the lie to everything the wisdom whereof they do not comprehend, and ere its inner meaning has become clear to them Even thus did those who lived before their time give the lie to the truth: and behold what happened in the end to those evildoers! 39 And of them there are some who believe therein, and of them there are some who believe not therein, and your Lord is All-Aware of the Mufsidun (evil-doers, liars, etc.). 40
