The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
