The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
