▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 for what they have done 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
