In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
