Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
