Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
