Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In an elevated garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
