He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And hath fear, 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
