He it is Who made the earth smooth for you, therefore go about in the spacious sides thereof, and eat of His sustenance, and to Him is the return after death. 15 Are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it shall be in a state of commotion. 16 Or can you ever feel secure that He who is in heaven will not let loose against you a deadly stormwind, whereupon you would come to know how [true] My warning was? 17 Those that were before them also cried lies; then how was My horror! 18 Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing. 19 Or who is he that will be an army unto you to help you instead of the Beneficent? The disbelievers are in naught but illusion. 20 Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion. 21 Who is better guided: he who walks grovelling on his face, or he who walks upright on a Straight Path? 22 Say it is He Who has created you, and endowed you with hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts. Little thanks you give. 23 Say: “Allah it is Who multiplied you in the earth and to Him you will be mustered.” 24 They say: "When will this promise (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) come to pass? if you are telling the truth." 25 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "Knowledge thereof rests with God alone; and I am only a plain warner." 26 When they see the torment approaching, the faces of the disbelievers will blacken and they will be told, "This is what you wanted to (experience)". 27 Say: Have you considered if Allah should destroy me and those with me-- rather He will have mercy on us; yet who will protect the unbelievers from a painful punishment? 28 Say: 'He is the Merciful. In Him we believe and in Him we put all our trust. Indeed, you shall soon know who is in clear error' 29 Say: 'What do you think. If your water should sink into the earth in the morning, who then would bring you running water' 30
