and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
