The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 The rising dawn, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
