Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
