Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
