The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And the day resplendent 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
