The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 that hide, 16 The closing night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
