Before him Noah cried out to Us, and We heard his prayer. We saved him and all his household from a great distress. 76 and helped him against the nation who had belied Our signs. They were an evil nation; We drowned them all. 77 And remember Dawud and Sulaiman, when they were deciding the dispute of a field, when some people’s sheep had strayed into it at night; and We were Present at the time of their deciding. 78 And We explained the case to Sulaiman; and to both We gave the kingdom and knowledge; and subjected the hills to proclaim the Purity along with Dawud, and (also subjected) the birds; and these were Our works. 79 And We taught him the making of metal coats of mail (for battles), to protect you in your fighting. Are you then grateful? 80 We subjected to Solomon the stormy wind, which blew at his behest towards the land which We had blessed. For it is We who have knowledge of all things -- 81 And of the rebellious people there were those who dived for him and did other work besides that, and We kept guard over them; 82 ۞ And (remember) Job, when He cried to his Lord, "Truly distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are merciful." 83 So We heard his cry and relieved him of the misery he was in. We restored his family to him, and along with them gave him others similar to them as a grace from Us and reminder for those who are obedient. 84 And Ishmael, Idris, and ThulKifl (the son of Job) each were patient. 85 We admitted them to Our mercy: for they were of the righteous ones. 86 And remember Zun-Noon,* when he left in anger, assuming that We would not restrict him – he therefore called out in the realms of darkness, saying, “There is no God except You, Purity is to You; I have indeed committed a lapse.” (* Prophet Yunus – peace and blessings upon him) 87 So We heard his prayer and delivered him from sorrow. Thus shall We deliver the true believers. 88 Zachariah prayed, "Lord, do not leave me alone without offspring, although you are the best heir". 89 Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us. 90 And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds. 91 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord; so worship Me. 92 But men have torn their unity wide asunder, [forgetting that] unto Us they all are bound to return. 93
