The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
