Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
