Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 rain from the sky, 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.'
