Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
