And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And abase me not on the day when they are raised, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
