Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Surely those who live in awe of their Lord, 57 and believe in His messages 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity. We have a Book with Us that speaks the truth (about everyone); and they shall in no wise be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of extreme punishment, behold! they are aghast thereat. 77
