The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Star when it setteth, 1 Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. 2 Neither does he speak of his own will. 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 He was taught by one Mighty in Power, 5 The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. 6 being on the higher horizon. 7 Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. 10 The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 with the lote-tree veiled in a veil of nameless splendour 16 The eye did not turn aside, nor did it exceed the limit. 17 Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 (Can anything as such be considered true) of al-Lat, al-Uzza, 19 as well as [in] Manat, the third and last [of this triad]? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 That indeed is an unfair division -- 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 What! Will man get whatever he dreams of? 24 To God belong the End and the Beginning. 25
